During this project the application 3d laser scanner Riegl VZ-400 to large scale objects gave us very good resluts The point cloud of even very high power line masts is very datailed and acurate.
Not only of supporting structures and foundations of overhead high voltage lines are visible but also cables, insulators, technical equipment and other items. The advantage of this measurement technology is apparent. This allows monitoring of the technical elements of power lines, checking the correct distance from tree branches and buildings etc.
