Train station in Gdynia is one of the biggest railway stations in Poland. Was destroyed during the II World War. New station, designed by prof. Waclaw Tomaszewski was built in the fifties. The complex consists of a station building and railway station connected by covered walkway. In the basement of the station there are two air-raid shelters. Refurbishment project of this complex worth 30 mln euro is going to take place in the middle of next year.
Due to the fact that this station is a historic building, the designers cannot introduce significant changes to external shape, but the interior is to be changed beyond recognition. In Autum 2009 3deling had made a detailed inventory of this building complex and also made 3D model of this complex.
We applied 3D laser scanning technology combined with precise measurements. The final product contains floor plans of cellars (shelters), ground floor, floors 1 to 4, and roofs. We also drow nine main sections and all facades.
