Train station in Gdynia is one of the biggest railway stations in Poland. Was destroyed during the II World War. New station, designed by prof. Train station in Gdynia is one of the biggest railway stations in Poland. Was destroyed during the II World War. New station, designed by prof. Waclaw Tomaszewski was built in the fifties. The complex consists of a station building and railway station connected by covered walkway. In the basement of the station there are two air-raid shelters. Refurbishment project of this complex worth 30 mln euro is going to take place in the middle of next year.
Due to the fact that this station is a historic building, the designers cannot introduce significant changes to external shape, but the interior is to be changed beyond recognition. In Autum 2009 3deling had made a detailed inventory of this building complex and also made 3D model of this complex.
We applied 3D laser scanning technology combined with precise measurements. The final product contains floor plans of cellars (shelters), ground floor, floors 1 to 4, and roofs. We also drow nine main sections and all facades.

In June 2009 3deling won a contract to perform the elevation surveys of Teatr Polski (The Polish Theatre) in Warsaw. Built in 1913 and later reconstructed after the devastation of the 2nd world war, this building is listed as a national Polish heritage site. The project’s high demand for precise conservational detail and accuracy made it a perfect fit for 3d laser scanning.
We used a Faro LS 420 laser scanner and a Leica 1001 totalstation and managed to complete all necessary surveys in one visit. Processing data, data preparation, point cloud registration rendering the elevation drawing took us 3 weeks. Below you will find photos from the measurement studies and examples of the rendering.

Our task was to scan and produce Cad drawings of all elevations of the Town Hall building included in the National Heritage list. For this project we could only use ZF imaginer 5003, the range of this scanner was not satisfying, taking into account height of the building.
We decided to set up few scanner positions on a mobile crane.
In addition to Cad drawings we were asked to color scan points using RGB colors, the coloring was our pilot project, the results we present below.

Our task was to scan and produce Cad drawings of all elevations of the 18th century Palace in Radzyn Podlaski. As often in case of buildings enlisted in the National Heritage, investor requirements were more challenging, this is why 3Deling was chosen for this project.
During the data processing we had an additional request to produce sections through external stair cases, we used Pointools View Pro features to generate orthoimages of requested sections, and the client was able to produce sections by himself.

The object was erected in the mid 19th century as a factory building, the investor planned to convert it into a modern office space. The heritage conservator required not only elevations, all floor plans and sections but also high resolution orthoimages of two main elevations. In this project we combined traditional fotogrametry with 3d laser scanning to produce orthoimages with pixel size 2mm.
The pictures were taken from mobile crane and all the coordinates for orientation were used from point cloud. On the client’s request we performed also deformation analysis of all the floors, so the contractors could calculate the volume/amount of material needed to fill the existing unevenness.

Park and museum Lazienki complex in Warsaw announced a public bid for scanning the main buildings. 3Deling was engaged in this project as a subcontractor by one of the companies that won the bid to measure the main building in Lazienki – “Palac na Wodzie”. Our client commissioned 3d scanning, generating black and white orthoimages from point cloud, and colored elevation images as a background for AutoCAD operators who cloud produce 2D elevations CAD drawings.
Additionally we generated point cloud sections that were used to produce floor plans.
Applying just 3d scanning in production often required in the National Heritage orthoimages appeared to be very cost effective in compression to digital fotogrametry.
