Due to the fact that this station is a historic building, the designers cannot introduce significant changes to external shape, but the interior is to be changed beyond recognition. In Autum 2009 3deling had made a detailed inventory of this building complex and also made 3D model of this complex.
We applied 3D laser scanning technology combined with precise measurements. The final product contains floor plans of cellars (shelters), ground floor, floors 1 to 4, and roofs. We also drow nine main sections and all facades.

We used a Faro LS 420 laser scanner and a Leica 1001 totalstation and managed to complete all necessary surveys in one visit. Processing data, data preparation, point cloud registration rendering the elevation drawing took us 3 weeks. Below you will find photos from the measurement studies and examples of the rendering.

The Investor planned to demolish all surrounding buildings around the chapel and erect a new building complex. Only the wall structure and windows were to be shown in the 3D model.

the model allowed architects to plan the amount/volume of light reaching the surrounding buildings. And the second one was building visualization. That is why the investor required a more detailed 3d Model. We did not do the scanning. The whole project was divided and 3Deling was used only on one section.

We decided to set up few scanner positions on a mobile crane.
In addition to Cad drawings we were asked to color scan points using RGB colors, the coloring was our pilot project, the results we present below.

During the data processing we had an additional request to produce sections through external stair cases, we used Pointools View Pro features to generate orthoimages of requested sections, and the client was able to produce sections by himself.

The pictures were taken from mobile crane and all the coordinates for orientation were used from point cloud. On the client’s request we performed also deformation analysis of all the floors, so the contractors could calculate the volume/amount of material needed to fill the existing unevenness.

Additionally we generated point cloud sections that were used to produce floor plans.
Applying just 3d scanning in production often required in the National Heritage orthoimages appeared to be very cost effective in compression to digital fotogrametry.

transferring all data, setting out foundation piles, precise lift shaft positioning and control surveys for clash detections, 3Deling was also employed to perform As-Built surveys during construction to verify the work of our subcontractors. All surveys provided on time and in easy-to-interpret AutoCAD drawings.

3Deling procured scanning and delivered point cloud as well as orthoimages of the walls and short point cloud animation from inside.

The high accuracy of the model wasn’t required, since it was used for estimation of day light that will be reaching the surrounding buildings after completion of construction.

The project included modeling of construction and aerials of three free-standing masts.
